The room first
Architecture · light · atmosphereWide frames establish Peti Kupe as more than a backdrop. Beams, haze, ceiling lines and the long room turn temporary lighting into a recognisable spatial signature.
An evolving visual language for Zagreb club Peti Kupe, built through recurring photography and motion across club nights, live shows and seasonal programming.

Peti Kupe is many rooms in one: a club, concert venue and cultural meeting point with a programme that moves between electronic music, live performance and community. Our ongoing role is to make those different nights feel unmistakably part of the same place.
Recurring event coverage can easily become a sequence of unrelated recaps. Peti Kupe needed content that could preserve the specificity of each artist and audience while gradually building recognition for the venue itself. Low light, fast movement and a wide programme demanded a visual logic flexible enough for every night but disciplined enough to form an archive.
We developed the direction through the work itself: treating light as architecture, the crowd as a living texture and the performer as part of the room rather than an isolated subject. Wide establishing frames, compressed crowd scenes, direct portraits and stage perspectives are edited as a connected rhythm. Warm red and amber form the recurring base, while cyan and green light act as deliberate interruptions across still and moving formats.
Over two seasons, individual event reports have become a growing visual library with a consistent point of view. The material can move from announcement and recap to press, social and long-term documentation while allowing club nights, concerts and special programmes to retain their own character. Peti Kupe becomes recognisable through the feeling of the room, even before the logo appears.
Peti Kupe becomes recognisable through the relationship between light, audience and its long interior. Every frame therefore looks for the feeling of the room before documenting the isolated moment.

Each event keeps its own atmosphere, while recurring decisions in framing, colour, distance and edit build a recognisable image of Peti Kupe over time.

A club night, live concert and special programme need different energies. Continuity comes from distance, sequence rhythm and a deliberate relationship between colour and black rather than one universal preset.

Material is selected as a long-term library from the start: immediate enough for the event recap and coherent enough for press, programme communication and future retrospectives.

The direction stays coherent because every shoot returns to the same editorial questions while leaving room for the actual programme, performer and audience to lead.
Wide frames establish Peti Kupe as more than a backdrop. Beams, haze, ceiling lines and the long room turn temporary lighting into a recognisable spatial signature.
The audience is photographed from within the event rather than as a distant mass, preserving the pressure, gestures and collective feeling that define the night.
Close portraits and stage views retain the artist's character while keeping enough environment to show how the performance belongs to this particular room.
A consistent selection and post-production rhythm connects very different events without flattening them into one colour treatment or a rigid shot list.
